Fawn Mckay
Fawn MCK Brodie was born 15th September 1915 in Ogden Utah. Fawn is a member of the Mormon Church's oldest family, was able to combine her literary talents and exceptional research abilities to create a stunning biography of Joseph Smith. No Man knew My History appeared in 1945. This title is taken from the funeral sermon given by Joseph Smith who was the founding father of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his declaring: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know my feelings." My story is not known to anyone. I cannot tell it. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn: Since that moment of candor at least three-score writers have jumped on the challenge. A lot of people have detested him while others have glorified. There are a few who have come to the diagnosis. Not that the documents aren't there, it's that they're so inconsistent. To assemble the documents -in order to distinguish first-hand accounts from thirdhand plagiarism, and to then put Mormon and non Mormon narratives together into an authentic mosaic, is not an easy job. It's both thrilling and informative. It's a task which Fawn Brodie put her professional energy into. Thaddeus S. Stevens was immortalized by her writing and by the results of her study. The Devil's Drive (1959) The Slaughter of the South. Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon, An Intimate historiography (1974), posthumous.
